Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for a direct-hire role in Newport Beach, California. The candidate will join a multi-discipline team providing electrical design across power, lighting, load calculations, and coordination with other disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of electrical design experience, a PE license, and proficiency with AutoCAD/REVIT, plus familiarity with California code requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Power engineering or related field.
• PE license in Electrical Engineering (licensed for at least 3 years).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design.
• Experience with AutoCAD/REVIT.
• Experience with OSHPD/HCAi.
• Knowledge of Title-24 Part 6 California Energy Conservation Code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction documents including drawings, power system studies, and specifications.
• Oversee designs including medium and low voltage AC/DC, single line diagrams, electrical plans and equipment layout.
• Design and oversee interior and exterior lighting, ensure compliance with IESNA standards.
• Participate in client and internal meetings, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings and AHJ comments.
• Coordinate QA/QC through design and construction phases.
• Maintain collaboration with multiple offices and teams on projects.
• Lead site visits and provide engineering support during construction.
