Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Wisconsin team. You will own the design and delivery of industrial control systems for packaging machinery, collaborating with control engineers to bring concepts to commissioning.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, in-depth knowledge of NEC/UL requirements, and field verification. Expect travel of less than 25% and a strong, collaborative culture in a stable engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in electrical technology as baseline.
• Approximately 10 years of OEM experience preferred in packaging machinery or similar industries.
• Own the design and delivery of industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing and assembling electrical control panels under 480V for packaging machinery.
• Specifying and configuring Allen-Bradley hardware (MCCs, VFDs, IO cards, power supplies, Ethernet switches).
• Designing integrated control systems using PLCs networked to Remote IO Panels.
• Specifying instruments used in packaging environments (photo-eyes, proximity switches, transmitters, solenoid valves).
• Designing pneumatic systems and sizing components appropriately.
• Working in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Commissioning and de-bugging systems in the field after installation.
• Applying NEC and UL requirements for industrial control panels.
• Travel typically under 25%.
