Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer with AutoCAD Electrical experience to support the design of industrial automation systems. You will create and modify electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs for automated equipment.

Collaborate with engineers and technicians, revise drawings from feedback, maintain project documentation, and contribute to design standards. Travel is less than 5%.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Senior Electrical Designer – AutoCAD Electrical

Travel: Less than 5%

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Drafter/Designer with AutoCAD Electrical experience to support the design and development of industrial automation and control systems. This position focuses on creating and modifying electrical schematics, control panel designs, and detailed drawing packages for automated equipment and industrial processes.

Candidates at any experience level will be considered, provided they have hands-on AutoCAD Electrical experience. The level of responsibility will be based on the candidate’s background, technical knowledge, and ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineers to develop electrical designs for industrial control systems and automated equipment
• Create, modify, and maintain detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
• Design and document control panels, including panel layouts, component selection, and wiring
• Develop complete electrical drawing packages, including:
  • Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Cable and interconnect lists
  • Terminal strip layouts
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Electrical schematics
• Ensure electrical designs align with applicable industrial automation standards and company practices
• Assist with control panel build and wiring activities as needed
• Revise drawings based on engineering feedback, redlines, and field changes
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
• Support drawing standardization and continuous improvement efforts
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, panel builders, and other project team members

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical is required
• Experience creating or modifying electrical schematics and drawings
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
• Understanding of electrical control panels and industrial electrical systems
• Familiarity with common control panel components such as PLCs, relays, power supplies, terminal blocks, contactors, and circuit protection
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively with engineers and other technical team members
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Experience Level

All experience levels will be considered for candidates with AutoCAD Electrical experience.

• Junior: Internship, technical-school, or early-career experience with AutoCAD Electrical
• Mid-Level: Experience independently developing electrical drawings and control panel documentation
• Senior: Extensive experience with control panel design, electrical documentation, industrial automation, and the ability to take ownership of projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial automation or controls experience
• Hands-on control panel assembly and wiring experience
• Familiarity with PLCs and I/O systems
• Experience developing BOMs, terminal layouts, and wiring documentation
• Electrical or automation-related technical education, certification, or apprenticeship
• Experience working with engineers on automated equipment or industrial machinery
