Job summary

CPL Consultants LLC in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to lead moderate to complex electrical design projects from planning through construction.

You will collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, prepare construction documents, perform load calculations and system analyses, and ensure compliance with codes and standards. This role demands a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five (5) years of engineering design experience in civil, municipal, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and/or OpenRoads, along with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation and apply them to project design and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical engineering plans, drawings, models, and construction documents using AutoCAD for industrial, commercial, and municipal projects.
  • Perform electrical system design and analysis, including load calculations, power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, tele/data, public address, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Size and select electrical equipment, panelboards, generators, transfer switches, and related components while coordinating with vendors and utility providers.
  • Collaborate with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated project solutions and evaluate system alternatives.
  • Support project execution through site observations, construction coordination, preparation of visual aids, maps, reports, and technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and codes.

Senior Electrical Designer

Full Time Buffalo, NY, US

Salary Range: $35.50 To $45.00 Hourly

What You’ll Do:

The rate for this position generally ranges between $ 35.50 and $ 45.00 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
