Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development of next-generation modular power solutions for data centre and critical facilities projects. The role involves owning electrical design from concept through manufacturing, testing and commissioning.

You will drive power systems design, create diagrams and select switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and energy storage systems, while ensuring compliance with standards and facilitating manufacturing.”

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years of electrical design engineering experience.
• Background in power systems, critical power, switchgear, power distribution, generator systems, energy storage, e-houses, modular infrastructure or related industries.
• Experience taking designs from concept through build, testing and commissioning.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards and industry best practices.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar tools is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of modular power infrastructure products.
• Develop single-line diagrams, power distribution architectures, and detailed electrical designs.
• Specify and integrate switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and energy storage systems.
• Perform or oversee power system studies including short-circuit, coordination and arc-flash analysis.
• Support manufacturing, FAT testing and site commissioning activities.
• Drive standardisation and design-for-manufacture initiatives to support scalable production.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, structural, manufacturing and quality teams.
