Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer focused on building services in Randburg. You will spearhead the electrical design process for diverse commercial, residential, and institutional projects, guiding a team and coordinating with architects and other engineers.

You will ensure designs comply with SANS, IEC and BS standards, while mentoring junior staff and driving innovative, energy-efficient solutions. A strong technical background and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum 8 years of electrical design experience in building services.
Experience leading design teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design for building services projects from concept to completion.
Develop detailed drawings, specifications and calculations for power, lighting, earthing and protection.
Coordinate with architects, structural and MEP engineers; manage tendering and site commissioning.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians to develop their skills and careers.
Ensure compliance with national & international standards (SANS, IEC, BS).
Conduct site surveys, load assessments and energy efficiency analyses.
