Job summary

Seneca Resources Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer in New York, NY to lead electrical design for complex building and infrastructure projects. You will develop detailed drawings, perform engineering analyses, and ensure code-compliant, energy-efficient systems.

Responsibilities include designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding systems; coordinating with multidisciplinary teams; and supporting construction with RFI responses and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent is required.
• PE license or EIT certification (or equivalent) preferred.
• 7+ years in electrical design engineering within construction (commercial, infrastructure, or industrial).
• 5+ years designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and grounding systems.
• 5+ years with AutoCAD and/or Revit for electrical design; familiarity with NEC/NFPA/IEEE codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and grounding systems.
• Conduct load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and voltage drop analyses using ETAP, SKM, or equivalents.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local codes.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams; review shop drawings and specs.
• Provide construction-phase support including RFI responses, site visits, and field coordination.
• Engage in value engineering to improve cost efficiency and system performance.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and quality standards.
