Job summary

MEPPI, located in Warrendale, PA, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead PCB design and system integration for power electronics used in rail infrastructure.

You will drive hardware/software design activities, interface with customers and partners, perform validation, and create manufacturing-ready documentation. The role requires hands-on PCB development in Altium and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Electronics Engineering with 7+ years of PCB development experience.
• Experience with propulsion control circuits or industrial inverter design is a plus.
• Hands-on PCB testing and validation across analog/digital domains.
• Strong knowledge of networks, architecture, and communication protocols.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and product life cycle management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for design milestones, reviews, testing, and inspections.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and partners to meet specs, schedule, quality, and cost.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across software and hardware design, RAMS, and field service.
• Design and develop PCBs in Altium; perform bench tests, bring-up, and debug.
• Manage end-to-end requirements traceability and validation matrices.
• Prepare customer documentation, design reviews, and source data for approvals.
• Lead First Article Inspection presentations and participate in external lab tests.
