Job summary

OERTZENGroup is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Swedesboro, NJ to lead the design of electrical control systems and switchgear for sophisticated wire drawing and cable manufacturing equipment. You will develop schematics, panel layouts, and full engineering documentation, ensuring NEC, UL508A, NFPA 70/70E, NFPA 79, and CSA compliance.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate systems and support manufacturing through build and acceptance phases, while driving

Qualifications

• Strong experience with electrical control panel and switchgear design.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and Engineering Base.
• Ability to develop detailed engineering drawings, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of control circuits, power distribution and industrial electrical systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL508A, NFPA 70/70E, NFPA 79 and CSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems, power distribution, and switchgear assemblies.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical / Engineering Base.
• Develop engineering documentation including BOMs, wiring diagrams, and specs.
• Collaborate with mechanical teams to integrate electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support manufacturing, testing, and production during builds and acceptance.
• Review changes and implement design improvements.
• Participate from concept through commissioning of projects.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders and customers as needed.
