Job summary

Simplexity Product Development is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong new product development experience. The role centers on leading electrical design for innovative products and coordinating with mechanical, firmware, and systems teams.

You will design circuits, create PCB layouts, perform bring-up and testing, and manage BOMs while ensuring EMI control and readiness for certification in a fast-paced environment in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong prioritization and planning to meet project deadlines.
• Excellent organization, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and thorough documentation.
• Positive attitude focused on client success.
• Ability to collaborate in a team with open communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design for new products from concept to production.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, systems and software engineers.
• Define and design system architecture and select components.
• Create circuit schematics and facilitate PCB layout.
• Perform board bring-up and integration testing with cross-functional teams.
• Write test procedures and assist in verification of design.
• Manage BOMs and redesign for obsolescence or supply constraints.
• Ensure EMI reductions and EMC certification readiness.
• Document design steps and improve engineering practices.
• Grow skills in a collaborative, process-driven environment.
