Software Placement Group is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer in Columbus, OH to lead electrical product design from concept to production release. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to drive robust, cost-effective solutions that meet performance and regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement across platforms, with mentoring of junior engineers and participation in cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of engineering experience including electrical product design.
• Experience with Autodesk CAD tools and engineering analysis methods.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical products from concept through production release.
• Generate and review engineering calculations, CAD models, drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation; analyze results and implement improvements.
• Assist with product qualification, life testing, and compliance testing.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, repeatable, and cost-effective (DFM/DFA).
• Provide engineering support for production issues and root-cause analysis.
