Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Crawley to deliver and assure high-quality electrical designs to cost, time and quality targets. You will work within Engineering Design - Capital Programme, reporting to the Design Lead, with blended working after a 6-month probation (3 days in office, 2 remote).

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering background with power system and protection design experience at 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and intermediate voltages.
• Knowledge of design processes and ENA/International Design Standards and related operational aspects.
• Ability to approve designs in specific area.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and their application in the role.
• Ability to work unsupervised, set targets and identify cost-saving solutions.

Responsibilities

• Produce Electrical Designs constructible in compliance with standards and CDM requirements.
• Deliver designs conforming to relevant Codes of Practice and standards for UKPN substations.
• Contribute to technical, commercial and contractual documents for procurement of engineering products.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and company procedures.
• Contribute to design assurance and audit processes.
• Prepare concept and developed designs from specifications and drawings.
• Provide excellent service to the customer.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth process from enquiry to energisation and project closure.
• Mentor other team members to enhance technical knowledge.
