Job summary

Gables Search Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for an onsite role in Huntsville, Alabama. You will design embedded electrical hardware, power electronics and PCBs for advanced commercial products.

This hands-on R&D position involves circuit simulation, testing, and data analysis, plus coordination with software and systems teams. Relocation assistance is available; candidates on US work visas will be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 7+ years of electrical or electronics design experience.
• Strong experience with embedded power electronics and PCB design.
• Experience taking hardware designs from initial concept through development and testing.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation and modeling tools.
• Commercial electronics experience in consumer products, medical devices, or automotive systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design embedded electrical hardware, power electronics, and printed circuit boards
• Create and evaluate circuit-level designs from concept through prototype
• Perform circuit simulation, modeling, laboratory testing, and data analysis
• Troubleshoot hardware performance and support design improvements
• Select components and evaluate emerging technologies and supplier capabilities
• Coordinate hardware integration with software and systems engineers
• Participate in technical reviews and customer presentations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
• At least seven years of electrical or electronics design experience
• Strong experience with embedded power electronics and PCB design
• Experience taking hardware designs from initial concept through development and testing
• Proficiency with circuit simulation and modeling tools
• Commercial electronics experience within consumer products, medical devices, or automotive systems

Candidates must have commercial product-development experience in one of the industries listed above. Aerospace or defense-only electronics backgrounds will not meet this requirement.
