Position: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Trisian-Global Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work on-site in Elgin, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging, electrical engineering, and control systems, with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful projects. Responsibilities include conceptual design, component specification, system hardware design, and programming. Managing high-level projects from concept to production, working closely with other engineers and technical staff. Also, providing engineering support for field service technicians and technical training at client facilities as needed. Supporting existing products within current methods and standards. Up to 20% domestic travel may be required; international travel is a possibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply principles of electrical and electronic theory to design, program, and troubleshoot packaging machinery.
• Develop and test new designs, including high-speed automation packaging machines.
• Manage projects from inception to completion.
• Design complete electrical systems from concept to prototype and production.
• Read and troubleshoot ladder logic within motion controls, including programming of servo drives (Allen-Bradley).
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and work effectively in a team environment.
• Travel to customer locations for software or hardware repair and installations (approx. 20%).
• Create wiring schematics, program diagrams, and bills of materials.
• Maintain strong communication skills.
• Work well within a team and independently when required.
• Manage time effectively and pay attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in capital equipment design and service.
• 7-10 years of high-speed automation and electrical design experience.
• Proficient in CAD software for electrical design documentation, such as SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar.
• Experience in designing systems with Stepper motors, Servos, and touch screens, especially in the packaging industry.
• Excellent knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and project management skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 20%, including internationally.
