Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform general electrical design activities as required.
• Create design output documentation (schematics, drawings, BOMs) and review for completeness.
• Support manufacturing with technical issues and test personnel guidance.
• Provide project management support and track design plans.
• Participate in Design Review activities from an engineering perspective.
• Act as a customer support resource as needed.
• Identify process and product improvements for continuous improvement.

Job description

Position Summary

This position is for an experienced electrical design engineer for a position in a growing computer engineering company based in the U.S. The candidate will perform various electrical design functions related to computers such as processor boards and peripherals, beginning with product definition all the way through release to production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform general design activities as required
• Create design output documentation (i.e. schematics, drawings, parts lists, etc.) as necessary and review for completeness
• Support Trenton’s manufacturing resource(s) as required, providing support on technical issues
• Provide support and guidance to test personnel
• Support Engineering Manager as necessary with special projects
• Provide Project Management support, including project tracking (design plans) on new Engineering designs
• Participate in Design Review activities providing input from an Engineering perspective
• Act as a customer support resource as needed
• Attempt to identify improvements in efficiency in processes and improvements in products and services and provide input to continuous improvement team

Requirements

• BSEE or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in engineering design capacity
• Must have experience in complex designs
• Knowledge of Schematic and CAD - PCB layout tools
• Hands on experience in bringing up new boards
• Experience working in multidiscipline development teams, coordinating with mechanical, software, and other engineers
• Experience in Intel architectures is helpful, including dual socket Xeon and server-class platforms
• Experience with DDR, PCIe, UPI, USB, and other high-speed interconnect is helpful.
