Job summary

GeoLogics is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to work on a long-term contract in Bloomington, MN. The role involves responsibilities across all program phases, from requirements analysis to supporting manufacturing and test. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Preferred skills include expertise in the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite and advanced circuit design capabilities. US Citizenship and residency are required for this position.

Qualifications

Job description

Role: Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Client: Defense-Aerospace

Hourly Rate: up to $88/hr (W2, non-benefited)

Length: Long-term Contract

Location: Bloomington, MN

Clearance: US Citizenship and residency required

Primary Responsibilities

• You will have the opportunity to be involved during all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, defining routing constraints, directing PCB/PWB layout and routing activities, and finally support manufacturing, integration & test, and qualification of the hardware system.
• You will work with both internal and external stakeholders and customers to develop systems that meet their high expectations.
• You will primarily support the Airborne Systems business area developing mission computers, sensor processors, and stores management hardware, with opportunities to work across the organization.

Preferred Skills or Experience

• Designing electrical hardware using the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite
• High-speed and high-density circuit card design incorporating embedded processors or FPGAs, designs using fiber optic interfaces
• Advanced working knowledge of lab equipment including oscilloscopes and Ethernet network testers.

Desired Skills

• Understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program
• Experience with circuit card designs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high speed interfaces
• Advanced knowledge of the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools suite for schematic entry, constraint manager, and HyperLynx Signa Integrity/Power Integrity analysis
• Ability to persevere through design challenges with minimal direction
• Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to drive innovation and secure buy-in on your concepts and ideas
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
