Job summary
Zeon Chemicals seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer in Texas to design, implement and maintain DCS/PLC/HMI systems ensuring safe, reliable plant operation.
You will lead capital projects, optimize process control, analyze performance data, and mentor engineers and technicians while upholding safety and process safety standards.
The role requires seven plus years of experience, a BA in Electrical Engineering, plus knowledge of Rockwell/AB, Yokogawa, and industrial codes; PE/EIT a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum seven years of controls engineering, automation, or related experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with DCS/PLC projects and capital projects; knowledge of Rockwell/AB, FactoryTalk, Yokogawa DCS.
- EIT, PE, or PMP certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain control hardware and software for DCS, PLC, HMI, historians.
- Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, historian tags, and operator interfaces.
- Maintain backups, documentation, and configuration records for control systems.
- Lead upgrades, migrations, patches, and hardware replacements of automation systems.
- Analyze process data to improve control performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of new equipment and systems.
- Lead root-cause investigations and provide technical leadership to operations.
