Merrick & Company seeks a Senior Instrumentation and Controls System Engineer for our Oak Ridge, TN office, supporting Nuclear Services and Technology projects for DOE work and industrial power generation opportunities. The role leads discipline efforts, provides technical oversight, mentors staff, and manages project scope, schedule, and budgets while interfacing with clients and regulators.

A PE license and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
12+ years of related experience.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
US Citizenship required for client projects.
Expert in codes and standards.
Extensive experience with electrical and control systems.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead discipline efforts on major or multi-project work.
Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Direct multi-discipline coordination across large-scale projects.
Supervise staff, assign work, and ensure deliverable quality.
Manage project resources, including scope, schedule, budget, and reporting.
Support proposals with technical content, cost estimates, and resource planning.
Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and regulators.
Lead project meetings and present to stakeholders.
Contribute to business development and marketing.
