Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced I&C/Electrical Designer to join our Government Services Group in Richland, WA. You will work on DOE facility design projects, including PLC-based control systems, instrumentation, and automation within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include preparing design media, drafting in 2D/3D, and supporting walkdowns with engineers. Requires 12+ years of drafting experience and ability to obtain government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• Associate degree or higher with drafting coursework.
• 12 years of drafting/design experience in I&C/electrical projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and related software.
• Experience in instrumentation, controls, automation or electrical systems design.
• Experience with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control panel layouts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on multi-discipline teams designing PLC-based control systems and instrumentation.
• Prepare design media for software, instrumentation, and control system implementation.
• Develop CAD drawings for installation in new or upgraded facilities.
• Create 2D/3D design drawings showing clear relation to facilities.
• Assist engineers on site walkdowns for data gathering.
