Job summary

Tri-City Group in South Bend, IN is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support day-to-day site needs and manage PO issuance.

You will work with Project Management to optimize inventory, evaluate vendors, source multiple suppliers, and negotiate cost-saving terms for electrical construction projects.

Candidates should have 5+ years of purchasing experience, with a background in large-scale construction and industrial or mission-critical environments; drug screen/reference checks apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in construction.
• Experience with large-scale construction projects.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects is required.
• Electrical construction purchasing experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Issue and approve purchase orders per guidelines.
• Coordinate with Project Management to manage inventory.
• Evaluate vendors on price, reliability, and history.
• Source multiple vendors to improve efficiency and minimize delays.
• Negotiate discounts and terms with vendors.
• Maintain pricing histories and vendor records.
• Communicate delivery issues to Project Management.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
