Job summary

Wesco seeks a Project Manager II to oversee multiple concurrent medium-to-large electrical construction projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. You will manage scope, cost, schedule, staffing, and outside vendors, while preparing status reports for leadership and stakeholders.

You will lead cross-functional teams, maintain strong customer and vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Business, or related field.
• 3 years experience required, 5 years preferred directing work in large-scale project management, preferably in electrical distribution or construction.
• Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Proven ability to oversee people and processes to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages project development from beginning to end, from initiation through closeout.
• Defines project scope, goals and deliverables to support business goals.
• Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders, including Sales, Quotes, Customers, Suppliers and Vendors.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, building strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, suppliers and key vendors.
• May estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
• May develop employees to be self-sufficient in continuous improvement tools.
• May function as leader for continuous improvement events.
• May align activities with corporate goals around safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Performs root-cause analysis on gaps, identifies waste, and drives corrective action.
• Drafts and submits budget proposals, recommends budget changes, and monitors project costs throughout lifecycle.
• Sets and manages project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
