Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis, TN is seeking a construction engineer to design, build, and activate advanced electrical infrastructure from high-voltage substations to low-voltage data-center power systems and BESS. You will manage complex projects with autonomy, collaborating with contractors, utilities, and internal teams to deliver reliable, scalable power across the Memphis campus.

The role combines project management with hands-on engineering, including scheduling, cost control, and commissioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; PE may be preferred.
• 5+ years in electrical construction, power systems, substations, or related facilities.
• Experience with high-voltage to low-voltage power infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle of electrical construction projects (substations, transformers, switchgear, BESS, data-center power distribution, UPS, generators).
• Manage multi-discipline electrical construction projects in field and office; act as project manager and owner.
• Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, utilities, and internal teams; resolve field design/construction conflicts.
• Prepare budgetary estimates and gather proposals; manage approvals and interconnections.
