Job summary

FST Technical Services is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Project Engineer to lead from the front in critical facilities projects, including data centers and mission-critical environments. You will drive commissioning outcomes, oversee testing, and manage multiple assignments with a focus on schedule, budget, and quality.

You will review design docs, interact with clients and contractors, mentor junior engineers, and ensure systems perform under real-world conditions.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or Qualified Electrician background.
• 7+ years in electrical systems OR 3+ years commissioning.
• Data center or mission-critical experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Execute and oversee functional testing, factory witness testing, and on-site validation.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Interpret contract documents to identify risks and opportunities.
• Evaluate electrical distribution systems and building system interconnectivity.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in field environments, climb ladders, and lift ~30 lbs

Preferred

• EIT, CEM, LEED, OSHA 30, BIM experience

Travel Requirements

Salary range: $130,000-$170,000 - based on experience
