Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Senior Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer to plan, execute, and oversee electrical testing and commissioning across geothermal projects. You will manage testing scopes for MV/LV equipment, coordinate with third‑party NETA firms, and develop procedures in line with NETA ATS/IEEE/NFPA standards.

You will lead safety reviews, witness relay tests, review protection coordination, and drive issue resolution while coordinating with internal engineers and EPC contractors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands‑on experience in electrical testing and commissioning, with strong NETA ATS background.
• Direct field experience conducting NETA acceptance testing on MV/LV equipment per ANSI/NETA ATS.
• Proficiency developing test requirements and commissioning procedures based on NETA ATS/MTS, IEEE, NFPA standards.
• Ability to review NETA test reports, identify anomalies, and disposition deficiencies.
• Working knowledge of protection coordination and arc flash safety; read SLDs, relay settings, and loop diagrams.
• Experience managing third‑party NETA testing contractors and coordinating large field campaigns.
• Willingness to travel 25–75% to support commissioning campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Develop ITPs for electrical systems based on design specs and applicable standards.
• Define pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and energization sequences for safe startup.
• Prepare procedures, test packages, and permits for electrical testing activities.
• Manage scheduling and coordination with EPCs, NETA firms, OEMs, and internal teams.
• Lead safety reviews and energization readiness for major equipment.
• Lead NETA acceptance testing and witness tests per ANSI/NETA ATS.
• Review test reports and drive closure of deficiencies.
• Coordinate with operations for energization sequencing and handover.
