Job summary

Fervo Energy Company seeks a Senior Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer to plan, execute, and oversee electrical testing and commissioning across geothermal power projects. Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in electrical testing and commissioning with strong NETA acceptance testing background.
• Experience reviewing NETA test reports and identifying discrepancies.
• Ability to develop electrical test requirements and commissioning procedures based on NETA ATS/MTS, IEEE, NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all electrical systems based on design specifications and applicable standards.
• Define pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization sequences to ensure safe and orderly system startup.
• Prepare commissioning procedures, test packages, method statements, and work permits for electrical testing activities.
• Manage the electrical commissioning schedule and coordinate with EPC contractors, NETA testing firms, OEMs, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead pre-energization safety reviews (PSSRs) and energization readiness walkdowns for major electrical equipment.
• Lead NETA acceptance testing (per ANSI/NETA ATS) for MV and LV equipment including cables, switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
• Review and accept NETA test reports; identify deficiencies and drive resolution with testing contractors, OEMs, or internal engineering.
• Witness relay functional testing; review protection coordination studies, relay settings, and arc flash analyses; verify field implementation.
• Perform or witness tests including insulation resistance, hipot, VLF, breaker timing, and TTR; verify CT/PT accuracy and polarity.
• Verify control and interlocking logic, including SCADA/DCS/PLC integration testing, with internal engineers.
• Track test failures, non-conformances, and close out items in a live deficiency register.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams on energization sequencing and system turnover.
• Compile and maintain commissioning documentation packages including test records and turnover dossiers.
• Prepare commissioning completion reports and handover packages for operations.
