Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc is seeking a Senior Electrical and Automation Design Engineer to design electrical power distribution and automation improvements for municipalities in a consulting and integration capacity. The role involves creating detailed electrical drawings, coordinating with clients and teams, and ensuring code compliance across projects.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) and 7+ years of experience, with opportunities to travel ~10% to Houston area clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Design Engineer.
• Excellent oral, written, and digital communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% to Houston area clients.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Visio experience; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical distribution systems for water/wastewater facilities.
• Develop electrical site/building plans, SLDs, lighting plans, P&IDs, and schematics.
• Coordinate with contractors, integrators and project managers to meet design intent.
• Provide design reviews, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
