Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking an experienced Engineer III or Senior to support the reliability and lifecycle management of critical generation assets, including power transformers and high‑voltage systems. You will drive condition monitoring, preventive maintenance, and technical evaluations to improve equipment health and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited institution or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of engineering-related experience for Engineer III; eight (8) years for Engineer Senior.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset condition assessment programs for critical generation assets to evaluate equipment health and support maintenance decisions.
• Develop and implement condition monitoring, inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and asset management strategies.
• Provide engineering support and leadership in troubleshooting emergent plant issues and reliability challenges.
• Analyze equipment health data, diagnostic results, and performance trends to identify reliability risks and plan corrective actions.
• Review engineering service provider design packages and recommend modifications for reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with plant personnel and stakeholders to define objectives, scopes of work, and ensure budget/schedule alignment.
• Prepare analyses, evaluations, specifications, and cost estimates to support operations and capital projects.
• Participate in capital projects involving equipment replacements and system upgrades.
