Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Electrical Assembler role at Powell.

Powell is an engineered-to-order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. The Senior Electrical Assembler will perform various duties in power control rooms, including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit. The work schedule is four 10-hour days: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am.

Responsibilities include:

• Installing electrical devices such as disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, and lighting contactors
• Bending, running, and installing conduit (EMT and Rigid)
• Installing cable trays and wireways
• Pulling wires and large cables
• Cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires
• Following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual) for wiring installation
• Adhering to all safety policies to prevent incidents
• Maintaining work area cleanliness and organization

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience
• Basic command of English (written and verbal)
• Ability to bend conduit using a GB Sidewinder bender (EMT and Rigid)

Skills and Abilities:

• Experience installing cable trays and wireways
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings
• Knowledge of electricity, circuits, and components like panel boards, transformers, disconnects, relays, and lighting contactors
• Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision
• Understanding of relevant NEC Code sections
• Basic math skills and familiarity with hand, air, and power tools
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to read a tape measure

Working Conditions:

• Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Constant standing and working overhead
• Frequent ladder use and working in cramped quarters
