EDG Inc. is seeking a Sr. Utility Safety Specialist to provide safety services for Transmission and Distribution projects within the Electric Utility Industry.

The role emphasizes working around electric substations and implementing programs to reduce injuries and losses, while influencing others with passion and knowledge. The position involves safety audits, field coaching, contractor oversight, and ensuring compliance with safety plans and training requirements across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Requires ten (10) years of experience in a Safety Specialist or similar role, with at least five (5) years in Electric Utility (Transmission or Distribution).
• Must be knowledgeable in interpreting OSHA regulations and advising crews and management on proper application.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety in the field by observing, coaching and averting incidents.
• Conduct field observations to ensure OSHA regulations and Utility Safety rules compliance.
• Investigate close calls, accidents and hazards; participate in safety kickoff meetings.
• Ensure contractors meet mandated safety training and adhere to safety procedures and governance.
