EDG Inc. in Jackson, MS seeks a Sr. Utility Safety Specialist to provide safety services for Transmission and Distribution projects within the Electric Utility industry.

This role emphasizes field safety around substations and aims to reduce injuries and losses while promoting a strong safety culture. The position requires extensive utility safety experience, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to coach contractors and staff. Occasional travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires ten (10) years’ experience in a Safety Specialist or similar role with at least five (5) years in Electric Utility (Transmission or Distribution).
• Must be knowledgeable and able to interpret and cite OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and management on proper application.
• COSS/CUSP certification preferred; OSHA 500 certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Champion safety in the field by observing, coaching and taking action to avert safety related incidents.
• Conduct field observations to assure compliance with OSHA regulations and Utility Company Safety rules.
• Conduct close call/good catch and ongoing accident investigations.
• Identify and address safety concerns and quality issues across project parts.
