Carter Machinery Company, Inc. seeks an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Applications Engineering Manager – Data Center to lead engineering leadership, set standards, and serve as the technical authority for complex EPG applications in data center environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BSME preferred).
• Minimum seven years of experience in power generation or electrical distribution.
• CAT power systems experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership of application or sales‑support engineering teams.
• Advanced generator sizing and application engineering.
• Power systems protection, controls, and integration.
• Cross‑functional leadership and sales enablement.
• Coaching, mentoring, and technical decision‑making.
• Commercial awareness and customer‑facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and act as technical authority for complex EPG applications.
• Establish engineering standards, design guidelines, and review processes.
• Serve as escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and integration challenges.
• Align engineering activities to sales objectives and customer value propositions.
• Partner with Sales Managers for RFP reviews, strategy, and risk assessment.
• Enable engineers to lead technical customer interactions with consistency.
• Oversee handoff from sales to project execution with clear scope and milestones.
• Ensure timely, high‑quality engineering deliverables (schematics, layouts, submittals).
• Collaborate with Project Management, Packaging, Service, and Commissioning to resolve issues.
