The successful candidate will mentor engineers, drive innovation, and collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and systems teams while ensuring compliance with export controls and relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years in motor design and electromagnetic engineering within aerospace/defense.
• Hands-on experience with 400 Hz systems and PMAC/PMDC motor types.
• Proficiency with electromagnetic FEA tools and life cycle development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of specialty motors for aerospace and defense.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD, AS9100, and 400 Hz power interfaces.
• Perform electromagnetic design, FEA, thermal modeling, and performance simulations.
• Oversee prototype build, testing, qualification, and production transition.
• Mentor junior engineers and present designs to customers and stakeholders.
