You will take technical ownership of assigned product lines from requirements through validated hardware with hands-on leadership and collaboration across engineering teams.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, deep EM theory, and proficiency in Maxwell/JMAG/COMSOL, with Python for automation.

Qualifications

Extensive electric machine design experience with ownership of motor architectures.
Proven track record from requirements through validation with measurable results.
Deep understanding of magnetic circuits, losses, and torque across the speed-torque envelope.
Experience evaluating multiple motor topologies and production readiness.

Responsibilities

Assess existing designs, lead architecture and electromagnetic design improvements.
Balance torque, speed, efficiency, thermal limits, packaging, cost, and manufacturability.
Personally execute analytical calculations and electromagnetic FEA; develop Python automation and optimization workflows.
Define electromagnetic and thermal test plans with controls and testing teams; correlate results and implement improvements.
Collaborate on cooling, rotor integrity, NVH, durability, mechanical design, drawings, manufacturing release, and powertrain and controls integration.
Support material selection, supplier engagement, prototype manufacturing, process evaluation, and transition toward production.
Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product lines to strengthen shared methods and advance commercially viable motor technology.
