Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Principal Compliance & Risk Consultant to drive cross-functional initiatives and strengthen the company’s compliance program across Electric operations.

You will test controls, refine solutions, and present findings to management, guiding continuous improvement and shaping risk maturity according to DoJ guidelines and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Master’s degree in engineering, economics, business administration or related field desired.
• Electrical engineer background with utility industry exposure is beneficial.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of California and federal regulatory requirements in utilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-functional execution to advance compliance program maturity and embed compliance into operations.
• Accelerate adoption of strategic compliance initiatives across business lines.
• Shape executive communications and present updates to senior leadership.
• Establish a library of compliance best practices through benchmarking and collaboration.
• Align regulatory partners to ensure cohesive regulatory interpretation and action.
• Lead development and continuous improvement of the Compliance Quality Management System (QMS).
