Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Elastic Platform Engineer to support an Air Force project at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The role centers on migrating from Splunk to Elastic and building enterprise Elastic environments to support security monitoring and log analytics.

The successful candidate will lead design, deployment, and cluster management, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring secure, compliant operations in an onsite federal setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years supporting cyber security tooling, specifically Elastic.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, and Elastic Agent.
• Experience leading large Splunk-to-Elastic migration projects.
• Strong Kubernetes administration and containerized deployments.
• Security logging, SIEM architectures, and threat detection expertise.
• Experience in federal or regulated environments desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, deployment, and administration of enterprise Elastic environments.
• Architect migration from Splunk to Elastic for security logging and SIEM.
• Build and optimize Elastic clusters (Elasticsearch, Kibana) in secure HA environments.
• Develop data ingestion pipelines to route security and log data into Elastic.
• Deploy Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) and manage cluster lifecycle.
• Administer Kubernetes-based Elastic deployments including upgrades and tuning.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and reports for security monitoring.
• Support migration cutover activities and validate results.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
