Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior EIT 2 to support the Power Generation Business Sector on renewable energy projects and related regional work. The role combines design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer, with opportunities for remote or hybrid work.

The candidate should bring an engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.) and FE/EIT certification, plus extensive field and project experience, to collaborate in a team‑oriented environment and advance

Qualifications

  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs moderate design tasks under supervision.
  • Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Performs field investigations and site visits as required.

Job description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Senior EIT 2 to work with the Power Generation Business Sector on primarily renewable energy projects and when needed other regional projects. GAI Consultants, Inc. offers its employees, upon approval by supervisors, the ability to work remotely or in a hybrid setting. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team‑oriented environment that will utilize their college education and past work experience to develop professionally into a well‑rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's environment. The candidate will perform both design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.

  • Site Grading Plans
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
  • Stormwater Management Plans
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic/Drainage Plans
  • Utility Design and Relocation Plans
  • Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans
  • Geotechnical Investigations
  • Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits, building permits, land development plans, high occupancy permits, etc.)
  • Access Road Section Development
  • Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Quality Control Plans
  • Construction Cost Estimates
  • Owner's Engineer Support During Construction
  • Field Investigations
  • Daily/Weekly Construction Inspections
  • Earthwork Construction Quality Control
  • Compaction Testing
  • Concrete Testing
  • ESC Inspections
  • SWPPP Inspections
  • Environmental Monitoring
  • Travel to project sites, primarily in the Midwest and Mid‑Atlantic regions of the United States.
General Characteristics

Minimum Years of Experience
  • 6+
Education
  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering
Certification / Licensure
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer‑in‑training (EIT) or engineering‑intern (EI) certification.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Performs moderate design tasks.
  • Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Performs research and field investigation.
Project and Task Management
  • Works as a part of a team and coordinates work with others.
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
Management Responsibility
  • Receives instruction on specific objectives.
  • Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions.
  • Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment.
  • Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer typically in their specialty.
Communication Skills
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Interacts with other staff.
  • Interacts with clients with close oversight.
  • Interacts closely with Project Managers and various Department Managerial Staff, especially with client communications.
  • Interacts with clients at regular project meetings.
