Job summary

Job description

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Senior EIT 1 to work within our Transmission Power Delivery Sector. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment. This position is eligible for GAI’s flexible Hybrid workplace place/Telework Policy.

Job Duties
  • Plans, designs, and facilitates Transmission engineer project design tasks
  • Undertakes technical and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with clients.
  • Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
  • Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Performs work under professional engineering staff.
  • Handles basic issues and problems but will refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses working knowledge of PLS-Pole and PLS CAD design tasks.
  • Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • This position requires local/regional travel and should be expected to be 5-10%.

Minimum Years Of Experience
  • 4+
Education
  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering
Certification/Licensure
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Performs moderate design tasks.
  • Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Performs research and field investigation.
Project and Task Management
  • Works as a part of a team and coordinates work with others.
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
Management Responsibility
  • Receives instruction on specific objectives.
  • Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions.
  • Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment.
  • Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer typically in their specialty.
Communication Skills
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates assertiveness and cooperation in managing conflicts.
  • Interacts with internal and external project team members.
  • Assists with official communication pertaining to specific assignments/meetings.
