Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior engineer to lead EHV transmission line projects, focusing on 500kV and 765kV designs for utilities, COOPs, and developers. The role coordinates with internal and client teams to drive design delivery and project execution.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with standards such as NESC, IEC, and IEEE while traveling to project sites as needed and maintaining a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program or management/business degree.
• 10+ years of project management experience on Utility Transmission projects.
• 5+ years of experience in 500kV/765kV transmission line design.
• Expertise in electrical considerations for 765kV lines.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of standards: NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, ANSI.
• Experience liaising with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willing to travel to project sites and attend client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME and technical resource for EHV line designs (500kV+).
• Execute engineering projects and develop design deliverables.
• Supervise and mentor the project team in EHV designs.
• Maintain positive client relationships with functional leads.
• Lead on-time, on-budget delivery of projects.
• Communicate with stakeholders and supervisors.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to meet specs and codes.
• Perform independent reviews of designs and calculations.
• Prepare clear project reports for clients.
• Analyze issues and propose improvements.
