Job summary

Zoetis, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an Environment, Health, and Safety Sr. Associate to lead and oversee EHS programs across research and development sites.

You will develop, implement, and enforce policies covering construction safety, lab safety, chemical and biological safety, and emergency response; ensure regulatory compliance and manage permits. The role focuses on risk assessments, incident investigations, training, and continuous improvement, partnering with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related field or similar technical discipline.
• 3+ years of site-based EHS experience, ideally in construction and trades safety.
• Strong understanding of EPA, EGLE, OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
• Ability to translate EHS requirements into practical guidance for scientists and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and improvement areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into projects and facilities design.
• Serve as a resource for safety inquiries and initiatives from internal and external stakeholders.
• Own and maintain written programs (e.g., contractor safety, LOTO, respiratory protection, PPE, hot work, emergency action plan).
• Ensure regulatory compliance and manage permits, licenses, and reporting requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental and occupational health risks.
• Develop emergency response plans and investigate incidents for root cause analysis.
• Deliver EHS training and drive continuous improvement based on performance metrics.
