Job summary

FNS, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced EHS/Safety professional to lead site safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance across operations.

The role focuses on training, inspections, incident investigation, and maintaining safety records to support a safe workplace. You will coordinate with operations, contractors, and regulators, requiring strong English communication, Spanish training capability, and travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of hands-on EHS or safety compliance experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or heavy equipment operations.
• Working knowledge of Arizona OSHA requirements and federal OSHA general industry standards, emergency planning, HazCom, PPE, powered industrial trucks and injury recordkeeping.
• Experience leading inspections, investigations, training, corrective action tracking and document control; able to communicate with regulators and customers professionally.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to train or arrange effective training for Spanish speaking employees. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites, walk industrial yards, and work around operating equipment while following site safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site specific accident prevention / safety plans, emergency action plans, fire prevention procedures, hazard communication programs, PPE assessments, equipment rules, and applicable permits.
• Maintain an indexed evidence system showing when training, inspections, drills, audits, and corrective actions occurred.
• Lead routine self inspections, document findings with owners and due dates, verify closure in the field, and prepare records and management representatives for inspections; coordinate with authorities as appropriate.
• Set and enforce site specific PPE rules; coach supervisors and document follow through.
• Oversee vehicle and equipment controls, operator qualifications, and safe towing / recovery procedures.
• Conduct job hazard analyses for nonroutine work; coordinate lockout/tagout, fall protection, electrical safety and other controls.
• Maintain chemical inventories and training for battery materials; coordinate response plans with leadership and responders.
• Investigate injuries and near misses; preserve evidence, assign corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
• Partner with operations to apply corrective coaching and track findings.
