Job summary

FITS in Puerto Rico is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety professional to serve as the primary liaison between site EH&S and capital project teams, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk reduction in project scope.

The role requires a bachelor’s in EHS or related field with six years in regulated industry, bilingual Spanish/English, strong writing and communication, and experience with PSSR, MOC, LOTO, hazardous gases, and OSHA/EPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS with 6 years in regulated industry.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with PSM, PSSR, MOC, OSHA/EPA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between site EH&S and capital project teams.
• Participate in project design reviews to ensure EH&S requirements are incorporated.
• Review designs and construction activities for regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate and support PSSRs, MOC, commissioning, and readiness assessments.
• Utilize EH&S systems to track reviews, changes, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct field oversight and inspections to verify EH&S compliance.
• Collaborate with IH, Occupational Safety, Environmental, and other EHS programs.
• Provide technical guidance on machine safeguarding and hazardous energy management.
• Identify EH&S gaps and track closure of findings.
• Support during shutdowns and startups outside normal hours.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Travel may be required.
