Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our site safety strategy and compliance efforts. You will champion a culture of safety, partner with plant leadership, and oversee programs that protect employees and the environment.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in EHS/risk management, strong regulatory knowledge, and leadership experience. Travel 50-75% and CSP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental sciences or similar.
• 8+ Years of experience in the environmental, health, & safety or risk management field.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including the plant floor, customers and suppliers.
• Experience with modern safety and environmental improvement techniques and methods.
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, research and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant federal, state and local occupational environmental, health and safety laws and regulations.
• Ability to travel 50-75%.
• Preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive safety culture by empowering employees and reducing risks.
• Partner with plant leadership to develop and sustain safety programs.
• Serve as primary technical resource for environmental, health, and safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate EHS standards.
• Monitor inspections, permits, certifications, and preventive maintenance for compliance.
• Develop and deliver EHS training to improve performance.
• Investigate incidents and perform root cause analyses.
• Travel 50-75% to sites and operations.
