Job summary

SBM Management Services in Jamaica, NY is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to plan, direct, and implement the organization’s safety program, ensuring a safe, healthy, and accident-free workplace.

The role is almost exclusively focused on safety, with minimal health/environment oversight, requiring 7+ years of safety experience, OSHA compliance expertise, and a business-partner mindset. Compensation is $110,000–$115,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 7+ years safety experience with OSHA compliance, BBS, safety analysis, CAPA, and a business partner mindset.
• Behavioral safety experience preferred.
• Spanish language preferred but not required.
• Safety experience in facility services, distribution/warehousing, or manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement safety policies and procedures per SBM’s program and OSHA rules.
• Train managers and employees on site safety practices and handling techniques for chemicals, PPE.
• Inspect NYC market sites for hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Lead accident investigations and develop injury-reduction plans.
• Lead development of job safety analyses with employee involvement and training.
• Represent SBM in customer meetings as needed in your market.
• Maintain safety files and records.
