Job summary

magniX seeks an EHS Manager to own and grow its Environmental, Health & Safety program. The role evolves from a senior practitioner to building site EHS staff as magniX scales, reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations & Industrialization.

You will lead policy development, regulatory interactions, injury tracking, and incident investigations across aerospace-grade battery and test environments, while remaining hands-on on site in Everett, WA.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of EHS experience with an Associate degree, or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, in aerospace, battery/energy storage, or related manufacturing.
• Direct ownership of core EHS programs (Lockout/Tagout, HazCom, incident management).
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA General Industry (29 CFR 1910) and WA DOSH standards, including NFPA 70E and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Own the magniX EHS program across all sites, including strategy, objectives, budget input, and continuous improvement.
• Author and enforce EHS programs and policies (Lockout/Tagout, HazCom, Electrical Safety, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, PPE).
• Establish and report EHS metrics to leadership with leading and lagging indicators.
• Develop staffing plans for future site EHS staff and lead hires.
• Align EHS with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 expectations for future certification.
• Serve as primary regulator contact (WA L&I, DOSH, EPA, local authorities).
• Own injury and illness recordkeeping (OSHA 300/300A/301) and workers’ comp coordination.
• Lead environmental compliance including hazardous waste, permits, and DOT hazmat shipping (lithium batteries).
• Oversee hazard analyses (JHAs, risk assessments) and EHS review of new equipment/processes.
• Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Oversee high-voltage systems, lithium batteries, testing environments, and emergency preparedness.
• Deliver EHS training for employees and contractors; foster safety culture.
• Remain hands-on with inspections and waste management.
