Job summary

Hanes Companies Inc. in Conover, NC is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to implement and improve programs that strengthen safety culture and regulatory compliance across the business unit.

You will lead incident investigations, coordinate EHS training, and align site practices with corporate expectations, providing practical guidance to site leadership and ensuring timely corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, EPA and related regulations.
• Ability to identify hazards and drive practical risk reduction.
• Experience leading or supporting incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication to prepare reports and influence teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support EHS investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Support compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and local requirements.
• Coordinate required EHS training including new hires and annual refreshers.
• Conduct on-site inspections and audits to verify program effectiveness.
• Track EHS metrics and report trends to leadership with improvement plans.
• Engage stakeholders across HR, Operations, Legal, and Engineering.
