Job summary

Hanes Industries, a division of Leggett & Platt, is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist in Conover, NC. The role focuses on implementing and improving EHS programs to strengthen a proactive safety culture across the site.

You will work with site leadership to identify hazards and drive continuous improvement while aligning with corporate EHS expectations. The position requires 5+ years of experience in manufacturing EHS, strong OSHA and environmental knowledge, and the ability to lead investigations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA environmental and safety standards.
• Proven ability to lead investigations and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve site EHS programs to strengthen safety culture.
• Provide regulatory compliance support and site leadership guidance.
• Conduct on-site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Develop action plans, monitor progress, and report trends to leadership.
• Coordinate EHS training including new-hire and annual compliance topics.
• Manage ISO 14001 requirements and corporate EHS expectations.
