Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks an Environmental Health and Safety professional to design, implement, and oversee programs ensuring regulatory compliance and employee safety across facilities. The role emphasizes independent work and strong communication with management.

Responsibilities include educating staff, maintaining documentation, coordinating inspections, and staying current with government and industry safety regulations. Up to 25% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 5–7 years of experience or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with environmental activities and regulatory reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outlines and implements policies to educate and promote employee health, safety or environmental compliance.
• Delivers training programs on environmental concerns or health and safety risks.
• Communicates regularly with management regarding environmental initiatives.
• Maintains training records, manuals and incident/accident reports.
• Tracks accidents and recommends changes to prevent recurrence.
• Monitors health, safety or environmental hazards.
• Coordinates inspections of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and recommends corrections.
• Communicates emergency response or evacuation plans for facilities.
• Maintains broad knowledge of applicable government and industry safety regulations.
