Job summary

Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across its multi-site operations in Ohio. The role drives a culture of safety, mentors EHS personnel, and partners with cross-functional leadership.

You will develop and implement EHS policies, oversee audits and incident investigations, monitor KPIs, and report to senior leadership. A strong track record in manufacturing EHS programs and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, including leadership responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
• Experience leading EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations (State, Federal, and company standards).
• Own and drive the corporate EHS strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Develop and implement organization-wide and location-specific EHS programs and policies.
• Lead, manage, and develop EHS team members on a dotted line basis and mentor staff.
• Design and deliver training programs to build EHS awareness and capability.
• Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor EHS performance and report to senior leadership.
• Oversee incident/accident investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Conduct EHS audits and risk assessments, collaborating with site teams.
• Act as the company’s EHS point of contact for regulatory inquiries and permitting processes.
• Partner with facilities and operations teams to ensure fire and life safety controls are effective.
• Coach employees to ensure policies are followed and drive a culture of EHS excellence.
• Travel to other locations approximately 25%.
