Job summary

Allen Control Systems in Austin, TX seeks an experienced safety leader to own and scale the manufacturing safety program across facilities, enforcing policies, training, and hazard controls for high-risk environments.

You will develop safety frameworks, implement compliance systems, and drive continuous risk reduction while collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure safe operations and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership in manufacturing/defense or regulated environments.
• 5+ years leading and developing EHS teams and cross-functional programs.
• Deep expertise in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry and related regs.
• Experience building and scaling safety management systems in complex ops.
• Experience with enterprise risk assessments, hazard analyses, system safety programs.
• Ability to influence executive leadership and drive organizational change.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Visible presence in manufacturing and testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's long-term EHS strategy to support growth and scale.
• Establish and evolve safety management systems, policies, standards, and procedures.
• Act as executive owner of safety culture and stop-work authority.
• Partner with leadership to integrate safety into strategic planning and operations.
• Represent the company for regulatory audits, inspections, and external safety stakeholders.
• Lead enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts.
• Drive Design for Safety principles in product and process development.
• Oversee LOTO, machine guarding, lifting, and industrial automation safety controls.
• Develop safety strategies for high-risk areas like lasers, weapons safety, and ordnance.
• Establish safety programs for hazardous materials, PPE, and facility zoning.
• Develop incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes.
