Job summary

BorgWarner Arden campus in North Carolina is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to develop and implement environmental, health, and safety programs for its technical centers and manufacturing facilities.

You will lead training, inspections, incident investigations, waste management, and emergency planning while ensuring ISO 14001, 45001, 50001 and OSHA/EPA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological, Environmental, or Health and Safety Sciences or 3–5 years of related manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong judgment, ethics, communication, decision-making, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations (federal and state).
• OSHA 501, HAZWOPER, Medical Responder, and related safety certifications are preferred.
• ASP or CSP certification preferred; ISO 14001/45001/50001 experience preferred.
• Experience with employee relations, policy development, compensation administration, training, and organizational development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote environmental, health, and safety programs and policies to create a safe work environment.
• Promote health and safety awareness through effective employee communications and participation.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA/EPA, ISO standards).
• Coordinate incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver training on industrial safety, hygiene, emergencies, and regulations.
• Develop waste management, minimization, and recycling programs.
• Provide emergency response oversight and proper chemical storage and handling.
• Foster employee involvement on safety teams and related initiatives.
